1st Star Alacer LLC was co-founded in 2020 by Jay Henry who brings more than 30 years of industry auction and valuation experience.  With deep-rooted relationships in the industry,  the 1st Star Team helps with distressed loans, auction services of M&E, and the sale of distressed companies.

1st Star also provides Sale/Leaseback deals to non-bankable entities against machinery and equipment collateral, and will always present the right solution for the asset class, category, and geographic location.

Prior to 1st Star Alacer, Jay oversaw a nationally recognized publicly traded asset appraisal and liquidation firm where he managed a team of machinery and equipment and inventory appraisers across the U.S. 

Jay holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School and a B.S. in Marketing from Southern Illinois University. Jay is active with the Secured Finance Network, Turnaround Management Association, Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries and Association for Corporate Growth, as well as other financial associations.  Jay is based out of Chicago.
